Prof Jacques Nantel Becomes Leger EVP

Canadian polling firm Leger has appointed retail expert and academic Professor Jacques Nantel as University Associate and Executive Vice President, Consumer Insights.

Professor Jacques NantelFounded in 1986, Leger employs more than 600 staff in eight offices in Canada, the US and Europe. The firm also owns the legerweb.com panel with more than 400,000 members; customer experience measurement specialist Leger Metrics; and qualitative recruitment and facility rental firm Consumer Vision.

Since 1982, Nantel (pictured) has taught at HEC Montreal, where his research focuses on topics such as the impact of new technologies on business strategies, the evolution of consumer behavior, strategies for product positioning, and structure and market segmentation. At HEC, he has held a number of positions including Director of the Marketing Department, Director of Programs and Secretary General. He has also acted as Chairman of the Omer de Serres Chair of Retailing and the RBC Financial Group Chair of e-marketing. In addition, his work has been published in the Journal of E-Commerce, Journal of Retailing, Journal of Business Research (JBR) and the Journal of Social Behavior and Personality.
