UK-based Kadence International has officially opened a Middle East office, in Dubai, which will be staffed by local quant and qual researchers. The company is also planning to open a second office in the region, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Amit Garde and Rakesh DayalThe company was founded in 1992 and already has offices in the US, UK, UAE, India, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam and China. Last week, the firm was sold to full service Japanese MR group CMG (Cross Marketing Group) for an undisclosed sum.

The new Dubai-based Qualitative team will be led by Amit Garde, while its Quantitative team will be headed by Rakesh Dayal. Garde joins from TNS, where he served as Group Account Director, prior to which he worked for Nielsen as Research Manager - Head of Qualitative Unit KSA, and he earlier served as Group Knowledge Manager at GfK. Dayal has been with Kadence since 2012, most recently serving as an Executive Director in Jakarta, before which he held senior roles at Nielsen, TNS and IMRB.

Vivek Thomas, who has overall responsibility for Indonesia and Vietnam and now the Middle Eastern operations, comments: 'The secret to Kadence's success in Asia lies in our ability to offer the processes and techniques normally associated with a larger agency, while maintaining the personal service of a boutique operation. We know that our Middle Eastern clients will also appreciate this approach too, and I am very confident that our newest team will be successful in delivering our unique proposition in this market.'
