Mu Sigma Founder Takes CEO Reins from Ex-Wife

Decision science and data analytics firm Mu Sigma is back under the control of founder Dhiraj Rajaram, following his divorce from former CEO Ambiga Subramanian earlier this year.

Dhiraj Rajaram, CEO of Mu SigmaRajaram's wife Ambiga Subramanian was promoted at the beginning of the year to the CEO role, replacing Rajaram, who moved to the position of Chairman, but the two have since divorced and Ambiga has agreed to sell her stake to her former husband, doubling his holding to around 51.6 percent of the company.

Rajaram returned to the CEO role as of September 30th, he announced last week. The company he started in 2004 now has around 4,000 employees and has been growing revenue at around 25 percent per annum. Rajaram says he expects revenue to pass $1bn over the next five to seven years, according to www.forbesindia.com .

The firm's big data offer - used by 140 of the Fortune 500 - has been grown on the back of huge investments, including $108m in 2011-12, and ambitious openings, including a big data center for 300 full-time decision scientists and support staff in Austin, Texas, three years ago. In June the company announced a partnership with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) offering clients 'cutting-edge big data and analytics solutions' for business transformation.

Ambiga Subramanian will remain on the board, and said in a statement: 'It is time for me to move on from the management team of the company and do something different. I've agreed to support Dhiraj's interest to purchase my shares and get a controlling stake that will allow him to fulfil his vision'.
