Citi Hires eBay's Karu as APAC Analytics Leader

Global bank Citi has appointed former eBay exec Zoher Karu as Head of Asia Pacific Data and Analytics, within its Consumer Banking business in the region.

Zoher KaruKaru (pictured) joins after four years at eBay, where he served in the enterprise-wide role of VP, Chief Data Officer, with a remit to accelerate the use of analytics and machine learning, and integrate data through predictive models, customer DNA, behavioral insights for applications such as personalization, merchandising, and business strategy. Prior to this, he was VP, Targeted Interactions / Marketing Analytics at Sears Holdings Corporation, VP, Behavioral Analytics at eLoyalty (now Mattersight). He began his career at McKinsey & Company.

In his new, expanded role, Karu will oversee Citi's data and analytics capabilities, as well as customer insights across the Consumer Banking business in Asia Pacific, covering seventeen of Citi's nineteen Consumer Banking markets worldwide. He will report to Anand Selva, Head of Asia Pacific Consumer Banking, who comments: 'Zoher's appointment to this role is a key part of our digital transformation and overall strategy.
