Growth for London's Firefish

In London, independent agency Firefish has reported 7% year-on-year growth, with revenue up from £11.3m in 2016 to £12.1m last year.

Jem FawcusThe company, which also has offices in Amsterdam, New York and Singapore, launched as a qual agency in 2000 and added quant division TheNumbersLab a decade later. As well as its in-house insights films division Firefilms, the firm also owns a kids and family specialist, The Pineapple Lounge and a specialist insight communications and activation agency called Insider. In addition, it has just launched a new positioning statement: 'Unconventional Thinking; Uncommon Sense'.

Last year's financial growth was driven by Firefish US, up 16%, The Numbers Lab, up by 13%, and The Pineapple Lounge, up 8%. The firm said that after a 'tough start' due to uncertainty at key clients, Firefish UK gathered 'strong momentum through the year, ending with a 39% increase in fourth quarter revenue from the prior year period.
