Ferguson Replaces Østreng as Confirmit CEO

Ken Østreng, CEO of research software firm Confirmit, has left the company following its sale to Nordic private equity fund Verdane. Tech sector exec Kyle Ferguson has now taken over his role.

In February, Confirmit was acquired by Verdane following a long-running battle with its billionaire owner Alexander Vik. Verdane is an investor in data visualisation reporting firm Dapresy, which has now been merged with Confirmit.

Østreng, who now serves as Chief Financial Officer of e-learning firm Kahoot!, joined Confirmit more than fourteen years ago as CFO, and has led the company for the past three years. He previously had 25 years' experience in the IT industry, holding senior positions in listed and privately-held companies. Ferguson (pictured) takes over the leadership of Confirmit with more than twenty years' experience in technology, banking and payments. Most recently, he was CEO at financial tech company Fraedom, whose sale to Visa he led in 2018. Prior to this, he served as Chief Commercial Officer and MD at the company, having earlier spent eleven years at American Express.
