Chalmers Launches Cultural Research Collective

In London, former Ipsos MORI, Universal Music and BBC exec Hanna Chalmers has launched a research and strategy collective called culturestudio.

Hanna ChalmersCultural research specialist Chalmers (pictured) will work initially with former Ipsos MORI, The Sound and CrowdDNA exec Alice Ellen; and Mischa Gilbert, who previously worked at CrowdDNA and Synovate. The three say they are united by their own model of cultural analysis, as well as deep understanding and interest in cultural theory and social and contemporary issues, alongside experience of branding and marketing. The line-up is also supported by a global network of practitioners working on a project by project basis.

As a collective, the team can come together for larger scale and international studies, and members are also free to work on individual projects and consultancy assignments. In the coming months, the collective is planning to bring on board other like-minded peers and practitioners, and within the next twelve months, culturestudio will be looking for a shared physical studio space, working alongside creatives from other parts of the industry.

Chalmers comments: 'Our flexibility means we can run large, international, complex projects, while working for smaller start-ups, purpose driven organisations and charities - which are equally important to us. We've had an incredibly positive response from clients so far and we're excited about our set-up. I think we all feel this is the future direction of travel for the industry'.
