Leger Buys Toronto's SmartPoint Research

Canadian polling, MR and strategy firm Leger has acquired SmartPoint Research, a Toronto-based firm specializing in the consumer and healthcare sectors. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Sam RaiFounded in 2007, SmartPoint provides qual and quant services for research company clients in North America and internationally. The firm also provides recruitment for qualitative and sample for quantitative studies within the consumer and pharma space.

Leger says the deal will allow it to increase the size of its Leger Opinion (LEO) panel, which currently has more than 400,000 members; supplement its patient and healthcare professional panels; and broaden its healthcare research service offering. Sam Rai (pictured), the former owner and President of SmartPoint Research, now becomes Vice President, Leger Opinion.
