Stirista Acquires Data Marketplace VDC

In the US, data-driven marketing solutions provider Stirista has acquired data marketplace VDC (Venture Development Center), for an undisclosed sum.

New Jersey-based VCD is an advisory services firm focused on data monetization and creative data sourcing. The firm has more than 160 unique data assets under contract, and helps clients by defining, identifying and implementing new uses for big data.

According to Stirista, the acquisition will help it continue to expand its own identity solutions which are the basis for clients' audience segmentation, CTV, e-mail marketing, and programmatic systems. The firm has made two other acquisitions in the past ten months, including location-based data measurement and attribution platform Nikaza, having raised $13m last summer for this and other purposes.

As part of the deal, VDC CEO Matthew Staudt (pictured) will join Stirista as Chief Strategy Officer. CEO Ajay Gupta comments: 'This is another important milestone for Stirista as we continue to expand our solutions to help brands provide more value to their customers and prospects. Matt has been a friend and mentor for the past decade, and I look forward to having him on our leadership team'.
