Former Comscore Exec Zak Joins Vista Group

In the US, long-time Comscore exec Jim Zak has joined film industry software firm Vista Group, serving as SVP North America for its box office reporting platform Numero and its film distribution software developer Maccs.

Jim ZakNumero is used to extract data from cinema point-of-sale software, which can then be accessed by distributors for insight into box office revenue and admissions trends; while Maccs provides software for film distributors and exhibitors. Zak (pictured) joins with more than 30 years' domestic and international film sector experience. He was part of the team that founded, launched, and expanded the Rentrak box office service, prior to the firm's acquisition by Comscore. More recently, he worked for Comscore, overseeing studio relations and the expansion of the firm's box office service and research tools globally in the roles of SVP Movies and then SVP Theatrical until September 2019. He began his career with Orion Pictures, before moving to PolyGram Filmed Entertainment and Destination Films.

In his new position, Zak will be based in Los Angeles and report to Numero and Maccs CEO and Numero co-founder Simon Burton, who comments: 'I am thrilled to have Jim join the Numero and Maccs team and lead our US operations. Jim brings with him a wealth of industry experience, deep understanding of distributor operations and leadership in the box office landscape - which is key for our team as we strengthen and grow our North American presence'.
