B2B Data Firms ZoomInfo and Bombora Bury Hatchet

In the US, B2B data specialists Bombora and ZoomInfo have settled a lawsuit over a terminated revenue-sharing agreement and various privacy issues; exchanged compliments; and suggested they are likely to work together again in the near future.

Company intelligence and contact information provider ZoomInfo supports b2b sales, marketing, operations and recruitment - with integrations into workflow including major applications in each field. The firm was acquired by b2b intell company DiscoverOrg in 2019, and has since bought a number of companies including 'conversation intelligence' platform Chorus.ai and end-to-end data quality platform RingLead. NYC-based B2B intent analyst and lead tracker Bombora has recently partnered with the likes of Clear Channel Outdoor Americas and predictive intelligence firm 6sense.

The lawsuit pending in the Supreme Court of the State of New York stemmed from the cessation of a longstanding revenue sharing agreement which terminated in early 2020. Terms of this week's settlement were not disclosed, but Bombora founder and CEO Erik Matlick (pictured below) said the resolution was a ' step forward not only for both of our companies, but also for our industry', adding praise for ZoomInfo's innovation, 'deep commitment to privacy compliance' and 'ethical stewardship of data'. Henry Schuck (pictured above), founder and CEO of ZoomInfo, declared: 'Bombora's intent data plays an important role in improving B2B sales and marketing, and we look forward to working together again'. The companies say the agreement does not include resumption of the pre-existing business partnership, but that they are 'in active discussions' regarding Bombora's participation in ZoomInfo's RingLead DataExchange.
