Comscore Names Carpenter as New Chief Exec

Comscore has promoted Chief Financial Officer Jon Carpenter to the role of CEO, replacing Bill Livek who in March announced his plans to retire. The firm has also named a new Chairman and CFO.

Carpenter (pictured) joined last October after five years as CFO of direct marketing company Publishers Clearing House, where he was responsible for all financial functions. Prior to that, he held various senior divisional CFO roles at Nielsen, Sears Holdings, and NBC Universal, having begun his career at General Electric, where he held global roles in the US, Europe and Asia.

He takes over from Livek, who was named Comscore CEO in 2019, having previously been CEO of Rentrak (later acquired by Comscore), where he helped build the company's Movie and TV measurement business to a value of more than a billion dollars. Livek will now move to the position of Non-Executive Vice Chairman; while Nana Banerjee, who has been a Board Director since March last year, has been named Chairman, after a career which includes serving as CEO of McGraw-Hill, Group President of Verisk Analytics, CEO and COO of Argus Information and Advisory Services.

Additionally, former Chairman, Brent Rosenthal, who had held the role since 2018, will continue to serve as Lead Director; and Chief Accounting Officer Mary Margaret Curry has been promoted to CFO and Treasurer, having joined in 2011 as Global Tax Director, after nine years at KPMG.
