Ericsson Veteran Pharaon is New Tobii CEO
The Board of eye tracking and attention computing pioneer Tobii has chosen a new CEO - former Ericsson exec Fadi Pharaon will take up the role from 1st January next year. Departing CEO Anand Srivatsa will leave a month later after a period of transition.
The Swedish firm creates technology for companies, universities and research institutes, for applications in healthcare, education and training, gaming, extended reality and automotive. In December 2023 the firm announced a radical refocusing of its business with the acquisition of vehicle interior sensing firm AutoSense, adding c.250 full-time staff to the company and forming a new business or 'segment' within the Tobii Group. Srivatsa announced in August that he would be stepping down.
Pharaon brings experience from leadership roles in global mobile connectivity and technology field. During more than 25 years at electronics firm Ericsson, he has worked in roles spanning both technical and commercial disciplines, most recently SVP and a member of the Group Executive Management Team.
Per Norman, Chairman of Tobii's Board of Directors, comments: 'It became clear quite early in the process that [Pharaon's] perspective on Tobii's current situation, and his ideas about the company's long-term direction, were a great match with what we as a board have been searching for in the new CEO. We were also impressed by his extensive track record in shaping sales performance and supporting growth in a global organisation, and we look forward to seeing these skills being put into practice as he joins Tobii in the beginning of 2026.'
