Sweden-based eye tracking technology, attention computing and automotive data firm Tobii AB has announced that its CEO Anand Srivatsa will be leaving the role, with a search underway immediately to find a replacement.Srivatsa recently informed the company's Board of Directors this week of his decision to leave, as his family is returning to live in the United States. He joined the company in 2019 and was promoted to CEO in December 2021, replacing CEO of twenty years Henrik Eskilsson.
During the last four years Tobii has seen a seismic change in its business, focused around the acquisition of in-vehicle monitoring systems specialist AutoSense in December 2023 - this buy added around 250 full-time staff to the company and a a new business or 'segment' was formed within the Tobii Group. Srivatsa's term as ECO has also seen the company move into profit - in Q2 of this year the firm reported its third consecutive quarter of positive EBIT and reached EBIT profitability on a rolling 12-month basis - however with organic revenue declining 16% in the last annual results, the company has stated that it still has work to do in cutting costs and honing its strategy.
'Anand Srivatsa has initiated and led a transformative development of Tobii' states Chairman of the Board Per Norman, 'and leaves the company... well positioned for the future. We extend our warm thanks to Anand for all his contributions to Tobii and wish him all the best for the future.' Srivatsa comments: 'It has been a privilege to lead Tobii through an important and transformative phase of the company. Together, we have strengthened Tobii's position and have a solid plan and strategic path ahead.'
