Corus CEO Cassaday Joins Rival Group Board
In Vancouver, BC, Canada, Rival Group has appointed John M. Cassaday to its Board of Directors. Cassaday is founding President and CEO of broadcasting group Corus Entertainment Inc.
Created in May this year, the new Rival Group has operations in five US and Canadian cities, and brings together Rival Technologies' mobile-first platform, the panel operations of the second Angus Reid Group (ARG), and the consulting teams at Reach3 and ARG.
Cassaday (pictured) bring decades of experience in executive leadership, corporate governance and organizational growth. At Corus, he presided over more than fifteen years of growth, helping to established the group as a leader in radio, television and global animation through Nelvana. Earlier in his career he was President of both the CTV Television Network and Campbell Soup Company in Canada and the UK. He also serves as Chair of Janus Henderson Group plc and previously chaired Manulife Financial (John Hancock Insurance Company); and in a number of academic and cultural roles including as Co-Chair of the University of Toronto's Defy Gravity Capital Campaign and member of the Board of Governors of the Stratford Shakespearean Festival of Canada. He is a Member of the Order of Canada, holds the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal, and has been inducted into both the Marketing Hall of Legends and the Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Hall of Fame.
