Disrupt Hires AI Development Director
London-based Disrupt Insight has appointed Kar Hoo Lee as AI Development Director, leading innovation in reporting, automation and market intelligence.
Disrupt was established in 2023 by former Walnut Unlimited execs Chris Bland and Matt Rice-Haynes, and grew rapidly last year, with appointments including Dr. Lauren Greehy as Research Manager and Sandy McDougall as Head of Media Effectiveness. The firm was recently named Best New Venture at the MRS Awards.
Lee worked previously in senior roles at Research Now / Dynata, Walnut and most recently 2CV, where he led scripting and technical delivery. He brings in-depth experience of embedding AI directly into research workflows, driving efficiencies across survey operations, QA and reporting. In his new role he will focus on developing and integrating smart AI tools tailored to the needs of clients.
Bland says Lee will 'drive forward [the firm's] innovation roadmap with fully integrated and bespoke AI capabilities,' helping it to deliver greater analytical depth and creative outputs. Rice-Haynes adds: 'Kar Hoo has the rare ability to translate technical complexity into systems that actually work for researchers and clients alike. We're absolutely buzzing to have him shaping how AI shows up at Disrupt; thoughtfully, practically, and with purpose.'
