Indeemo Adds AI Translation to Video Research Tools

Cork, Ireland-based insights platform Indeemo has augmented its real-time video tools with automated translation, promising to help cross-functional, global teams overcome language barriers and analyze multi-market projects in real time.

Will PlummerFounded in 2016, Indeemo provides a mobile app that allows respondents to capture in-context video of their lives and real-world behavior, and in October added a feature called Live Video, allowing researchers to conduct real-time, 1-to-1 video ethnographies and interviews with participants in their natural environments, via their smartphones.

The latest addition focuses on reducing the friction associated with multi-country video studies, by instantly generating English subtitles for footage recorded in over 30 different languages. Users can query multi-language video datasets using English prompts, retrieving relevant video clips with dual-language transcripts, which Indeemo says enables teams to 'instantly verify the nuance of the original footage without waiting for third-party translation.' The firm says clients can now complete multi-country video research in 'a matter of days.'

Chief Experience Officer Will Plummer (pictured) comments: 'The power of auto-translation lies in accelerating shared understanding across global project teams. When every client, designer, and researcher, regardless of their native language, can watch the same pivotal moments and understand them together, it makes global insight a live, shared experience.'
