Cork, Ireland-based in-the-moment video research platform Indeemo has added a new 'Live Video' feature allowing researchers to conduct real-time, 1-to-1 video ethnographies and interviews with participants in their natural environments, via their smartphones. The company's existing asynchronous video feedback solution allows brands and consultancies to analyse products and experiences, importing interview and group recordings for analysis. AI features offer summarised transcripts, identification of themes, extraction of timestamped quotes and the rapid translation of videos from one language to another.
With the new tools, participants can broadcast live video of their activities and surroundings, with researchers able to ask questions as a shopper navigates a store aisle, as a patient goes through a daily health routine, or as users test products and devices at home. A key advantage over standard video-conferencing interviews is the ability for participants to move around in any context and show researchers how they really behave.
Sessions are conducted, recorded and securely saved on the Indeemo platform, with interview footage immediately displayed and transcribed on the researcher's dashboard alongside any diary / pre-task uploads, or other qualitative data including that from the company's original, asynchronous methods.
'The need for brands to bridge the say-do gap with rich, reliable video insights has never been greater,' comments founder and CEO Eugene Murphy (pictured). 'By augmenting our existing async capabilities with mobile first, live video, we give clients the best of both worlds: the ability to capture contextual insights longitudinally and the ability to engage live with participants in hard to reach contexts via their phones.'
