Former Zendesk Exec Takes CMO Role at The Trade Desk
In Ventura, California, ad tech company The Trade Desk has appointed Sarah Gavin as Chief Marketing Officer and EVP. She is based in the Bellevue office and reports directly to CEO and founder Jeff Green.
The Trade Desk offers a self-service, cloud-based platform enabling ad buyers to create, manage and optimize campaigns across formats and devices, and tapping integrations with major data, inventory and publisher partners. Last year it launched a free insights product, OpenSincera, building on an acquisition and giving clients, partners - and competitors - access to its detailed advertising metadata. It also partnered with consumer intelligence groups NIQ and MRI-Simmons to launch a new brand called Consumer Canvas.
The latest appointment follows the recent hiring of CFO Nate Olmstead, and allows interim CMO Anna Sayre to return to her role as SVP of Global Brand Marketing. Gavin (pictured) joins from Zendesk where she was Chief Communications Officer and Interim Chief Marketing Officer, and before this she led global narrative strategy for Google Cloud. Earlier she spent more than a decade at Expedia Group, serving as Chief Communications Officer and SVP of Global Communications and Corporate Brand. In her new role, starting on Monday 15th, she will lead The Trade Desk's marketing organization, overseeing global brand, communications, customer marketing, and demand generation efforts.
CEO and founder Green comments: 'The future of advertising will be shaped by marketers who embrace innovation, transparency, and the full potential of the open internet. The Trade Desk is uniquely positioned to help lead that future, and Sarah is the right leader to help us tell that story. She combines world-class marketing and communications expertise with a deep understanding of technology and business strategy.'
Headquartered in Ventura, CA, the company has offices across North America, Europe and Asia Pacific and is online at www.thetradedesk.com .
