M&S Hires Head of Data and AI Delivery
UK retail chain Marks & Spencer has appointed financial services veteran Nathan Davies as its first Head of Data and AI Delivery, leading the execution and scaling of major programmes across the group. The hire continues a recent series of senior appointments geared towards digital transformation.
Davies recently spent six years at BlackRock, latterly as Head of Delivery Transformation for the asset management giant's global Aladdin Data platform, and earlier as a Consultant and Project Manager. Earlier he worked in senior roles at Lloyds Banking Group, E.On, VW, Citigroup, Capgemini and Egg Banking.
In his new role he will work closely with M&S Chief Data and AI Officer Di Mayze, a former employee of WPP and dunnhumby who joined the company in late 2024; and with M&S Head of Analytics and Data Science Andrew Davis. Another former dunnhumby man, Matt McLellan, joined M&S three weeks ago as its new Director of Loyalty, from supermarket rival Morrisons where he was Chief Customer Officer.
The company's drive to put digital capabilities are at the heart of both its customer experience and internal operations has also seen the appointment of a new Chief Digital and Technology Officer, John Hunt, who joined earlier in the summer from Woolworths Australia.
