Orange Veteran Joins RED C
RED C Research has appointed longtime Orange researcher Darren Hanson as Head of Client Strategy, based in its London office.
UK and Ireland-based RED C merged with sister company Relish, in January, and covers six specialisms: Media; Entertainment & Sport; Places & Spaces; Retail & FMCG; Financial Services; and Utilities, via a UK team of 33 full-time researchers including 21 at director level. Together with the business in Dublin, it now has global revenues of more than EUR 14m, with 85 full time staff running studies in 35 markets across the world.
Hanson brings more than 25 years of experience in senior roles across both client-side and agency environments, including sixteen years with telecoms provider Orange. He spent half a dozen years as a Consultant at TNS before joining Orange in 2006 as Head of Customer Experience Research, and rose to Group Director, Research and Insights by 2021. Since the end of 2022 he has worked in fractional and freelance roles.
At RED C, Hanson will help to drive a planned new phase of growth, drawing on his client-side nous to help translate evidence into action and ensure research delivers meaningful commercial and organisational impact. Group CEO Richard Colwell says of the hire: 'Darren's experience on both the client and agency side gives him a deep understanding of the challenges organisations face in turning insight into action. At a time when businesses are under increasing pressure to make confident decisions, demonstrate impact and adapt to constant change, Darren's perspective will help our clients realise even greater value from their investment in insight.'
