Springboard Expands in Middle East and Africa

IT specialist Springboard Research has expanded in the Middle East & Africa region with the appointment of Hicham Bouguejja as Research Manager at its research center in Casablanca in Morocco, and Burcu Sezen as an Analyst based in Istanbul, Turkey.

Bouguejja brings with him extensive experience of tracking emerging technologies and industry developments in several major countries in the region. He joins from IDC, where as a Research Analyst, he focused on hardware, channels, and services in North Africa, with a specific focus on the IT markets of Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia. He was earlier employed by Dell, where he rose from the position of Sales Analyst to the role of EMEA Project Manager. Bouguejja has a BA in Business Administration with specialization in finance from Alakhwayn University, Morocco.

Now reporting to Springboard's manager for the region, James Erickson, and working closely with CEO & EVP of Research, Dane Anderson, Bouguejja will be responsible for managing the firm's research projects in the region and for its individual markets.

'Springboard's strengths in innovation and a focus on emerging markets laid the groundwork for our phenomenal growth in the Middle East & Africa region in the short time that we have been present here,' commented Anderson. 'We are confident that Hicham's joining will set the stage for the next level of this growth, as we prepare to go even deeper into the individual markets and help our clients gain unmatched insights into the region.'

Sezen has been working for Springboard Research on a contract basis for some time, and has now become a permanent employee of the company, having previously held a number of research positions in the financial services industry.

Founded in 2004 by two former-IDC executives, Anderson and Chris Perrine, Springboard now has a worldwide presence with offices in the US, Australia, Singapore and Japan, as well as global research centers in India, Pakistan, and Morocco.

VP for Business Development Perrine told DRNO that the company is currently setting up an office in Dubai, which it plans to officially open in Q3/Q4 2008.
