SSI Moves Headquarters

In the US, Survey Sampling International (SSI) is moving to new global headquarters in Connecticut, having outgrown its existing offices in the area.

Jim FollettHoused in a six-story structure, the new site has its own restaurants, a childcare center, auditoria, and fitness centers. The firm says the move will provide a client and employee-friendly environment and accommodate its growth.

'Since I joined SSI 20 months ago, we've added five offices in five countries, and our employee base has grown by 60%,' explained CEO Jim Follett. 'With this move, we are making a significant investment in our people and providing an enriching environment where everyone can do great work in support of research clients and respondents.'

SSI currently has 15 offices in 13 countries, with nearly half the company's 400 employees based in Connecticut. SSI's headquarters have been located in Connecticut since the company was founded in 1977 - first in Westport, then for the last 21 years in Fairfield.

The new office is an hour away from New York City, which Follett says gives employees the choice to live in metropolitan, suburban, or country settings.

SSI has additional offices in London, Paris, Rotterdam, Stockholm, Frankfurt, Madrid, Beijing, Mumbai, Seoul, Shanghai, Sydney, Tokyo, Toronto, and La Quinta, CA.

The company recently conducted a study to analyze the motivating psychological factors behind survey participation using a new principle called self-determination theory or SDT.
