UK postal service the Royal Mail has appointed former TNS Director Paul Murray as a Non-Executive Director.
Murray previously served as a Senior Independent Director at TNS for three years. During his 25-year business career, he has also worked as Group Finance Director at broadcasting company Carlton Communications, and at the oil and gas exploration business Lasmo.
His current roles include non-executive membership of the Board of media firm Thomson, and he is a Non-Executive Director of Knowledge Peers and Tangent Communications.
Welcoming the appointment, former TNS Chairman and Royal Mail Group’s Chairman Donald Brydon said: ‘Paul’s extensive experience in business, including his management skills in both consumer and service industries and his experience of regulated, competitive markets, will be an asset to Royal Mail as it continues to drive forward its modernisation.’
Murray, who will chair the Audit & Risk Committee, takes up his role in August.
