Peter CainUS-headquartered marketing sciences firm MarketShare Partners (MSP) has appointed former Millward Brown executive Peter Cain as Vice President of Analytics based in London, UK, to lead its European analytics team and spearhead its global FMCG practice.

Cain’s background is in developing advanced marketing mix and forecasting analytics. He has also developed methods that improve short-run ROI estimation across single brands and entire categories.

Most recently, Cain served as Global VP of Econometrics at Millward Brown Optimor. Prior to this, he worked for ACNielsen as an International Modelling and Analytics Consultant, and at IRI as a Senior Development Consultant. He began his corporate career at The Boots Company, where he focused on sales models and forecasts.

Cain received his BS and MS degrees in Economics from the University of Warwick and his PhD in Monetary Economics and Applied Econometrics from the University of Nottingham.

‘Peter's history of applying econometrics to solve marketing questions, specifically in the CPG category, makes him a tremendous asset to MSP's clients,’ said co-founder and CEO Jon Vein. ‘We look forward to tapping into his expertise to expand our client base around the globe.’

Earlier this year, MSP received funding from Elevation Partners, whose MD and co-founder is U2’s singer Bono. More recently, the firm partnered with Ogilvy & Mather to broaden the services currently offered by the latter’s in-house analytics team.
