Alex Thompson and Chris O’DonnellOut-of-home (OoH) media agency Kinetic has moved Asia Pacific CEO Alex Thompson to the new role of Global Head of Business Development, to be replaced by Chris O’Donnell, who is currently Business Development Director for the UK.

The firm – which is partly owned by marketing services group WPP – plans and buys all forms of OoH media. Its research planning arm, Kinetic People, conducts research into consumer lifestyles and analyses which out-of-home environments are most effective at creating a response from consumers.

Kinetic’s global executive re-structure has been designed to drive development, business services and cohesion across its network which spans 27 countries and 42 offices.

Thompson has been central to the rapid development of the Asia Pacific network and his new remit includes the development of new partnerships and increasing the rollout of the company’s specialist divisions for its international clients.

When he takes up his new role, O’Donnell will relocate to Hong Kong, where he will oversee the company’s existing operations in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines and work closely with the expanding Kinetic China operation. The existing regional management team will remain based in Singapore, reporting to O’Donnell.

Global COO Steve Ridley commented: ‘Kinetic is already the proprietary company for targeting people on the move anywhere in the world. Both roles reflect our commitment to a more integrated and coordinated global approach.’
