NWC Opinion Research, the AsiaPac arm of Opinion Research Corporation (ORC), has appointed Dr Phil Hughes as Managing Director of Government and Social Research. The firm’s Government and Social Research group is based in Melbourne, but Hughes will be based in the new Sydney office, to extend the location of the team to both cities. He joins with more than 37 years’ research experience. Most recently, Hughes was Associate Professor at the Centre for Statistical and Survey Methodology at the University of Wollongong, prior to which, he worked for ACNielsen for 18 years, and the Australian Bureau of Statistics for 18 years.
