In the US, technology trade association CompTIA has appointed journalist and industry analyst Carolyn April as Director of Industry Analysis. CompTIA is dedicated to advancing industry growth through its educational programs, market research, networking events, professional certifications, and public policy advocacy. The organization has an extensive market research program that provides the IT industry with data and intelligence on a wide range of topics, and research is positioned as a key benefit of CompTIA membership. April joins from digital media company Ziff Davis Enterprise, prior to which she was a Principal Analyst at IT channel consulting and research analysis organisation, the Institute of Partner Education & Development, where she was responsible for a wide range of research projects for IT vendors, distributors and clients. Earlier in her career she served as Executive Editor of IT publication VARBusiness, and of Redmond Magazine which covers Microsoft technologies. She also worked in editorial positions for b2b publication InfoWorld, and for daily and weekly newspapers in Massachusetts.
