Blake CahillIn the US, the Word of Mouth Marketing Association (WOMMA) has appointed Blake Cahill – SVP of Marketing at social media monitoring firm Visible Technologies – to its Board.

Founded in 2005, WOMMA focuses on word-of-mouth (WoM) consumer-generated and social media platforms, and marketing techniques that include buzz, viral, community and influencer marketing. Among its aims are the development and maintenance of ethical standards for marketers and advertisers, and of measurement standards.

Cahill joins the WOMMA Board with more than 15 years’ marketing, sales, product management and business development experience. He has worked for Visible Technologies for nearly four years, where he develops and leads all activities relating to business development, market positioning, PR, analyst relations and brand development.

Prior to this, he was Director of Marketing at the Belgacom Group, and held marketing and sales roles at AT&T. Earlier in his career, he worked for SafeHarbor Technology, Qwest Communications, ServiceMaster, SBC and Ameritech.

Cahill has spoken at WOMMA Summits and has been an active member of the organization’s Membership Ethics and Advisory Panel, which helps develop recommendations and WoM best practices.

‘As a proud member of WOMMA, I’m thrilled to join the Board to further advance policy, discussion and education for the rapidly evolving WoM marketing discipline,’ stated Cahill.
