Branding Australia's wild north...In Darwin, Australia, regional body Tourism NT has announced two senior appointments in its restructured global marketing communications division: Rachel White as Director Global PR & Media and Julie Bishop as Director Global Marketing.

The two join a team aiming to enhance the Northern Territory’s image as a destination.

White brings more than 15 years’ communication experience from both agency and client side. Most recently she was Associate Director of Edelman Worldwide PR’s Lifestyle team in Sydney, and previously she spent eight years with The Travel Corporation as Group Communications Manager, on brands such as Contiki Holidays, Trafalgar Tours and Insight Vacations.

Bishop is a brand and destination marketing specialist with more than 20 years’ tourism and marketing experience – latterly as Director Marketing for the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, and previously at Tourism Victoria where she worked in advertising and market research positions before moving up to Group Manager Brand Victoria and Manager Brand Strategy and Services.

Executive Director Marketing & Communications Rita Harding comments: ‘These appointments have global responsibilities and add a new strategic layer to Tourism NT’s existing marketing and PR teams.’
