In the US, broadcast monitoring firm Media Monitors has appointed Catriona McGinn as Sales Executive, New Business Development, responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities across advertising media.
Media Monitors verifies service for broadcasters, print media, media investment companies and ad agencies. In 2008, the firm became the first radio monitoring firm to be awarded accreditation by standards organisation the Media Rating Council (MRC) for its radio spot service.
McGinn joins from Nielsen BDSradio, which links airplay information with weighted ratings data to enable programmers to see how individual songs are rated on a minute-by-minute basis, and view how listeners react over a period of time. While working there as General Manager, she oversaw product development, marketing and national ad sales.
