In the US, baking product manufacturer Caravan Ingredients has hired Marge O’Brien for the new role of Consumer Insights Manager, responsible for developing products and programs, as well as gathering intelligence and tracking consumer trends.

The firm was formed in 2006 when Caravan Products and American Ingredients merged to form one operating company.

O’Brien joins from Information Resources Inc. (now known as SymphonyIRI Group), where she worked as VP of Client Solutions. She previously held a variety of executive positions in baking firms, packaged goods companies and market research agencies.

‘Marge has a depth of experience in market and consumer research that is unparalleled,’ states Jim Wells, Director of Commercial Insights. ‘She has been involved in new product development and ideation her entire career, bringing along with her the vast skills needed to elevate the Caravan Ingredients Consumer Insights Group, as well as category management best practices moving forward.’
