University College London (UCL)
September 14 2010

Chris RussellIn the UK, University College London (UCL) has appointed eDigitalResearch co-founder Chris Russell as a Visiting Professor in the Department of Information Studies, for the next four years.

eDigitalResearch was established in 1999 to provide web-based research tools offering instant user and customer feedback, and web site usage measurement.

Russell has been teaching at UCL since 2005, when the Digital Consumer course was added to the school’s programme. This class includes a number of aspects of the modern day digital consumer; from the rise of eRetail, to the ‘dot com’ boom, through to today’s multi-channel digital user.

His role is to help students to research, identify and map key behavioural influences, as well as understand the importance of usability and the customer experience. Students are able to utilise many of eDigitalResearch’s methodologies to conduct their own practical usability tests.

‘Chris has pioneered e-shopping research and evaluation and has benefited UCL researchers and students by sharing his knowledge and skills with them,’ states David Nicholas, Director of the Department of Information Studies. ‘UCL is pleased to recognise his considerable contribution by awarding him an honorary professorship.’
