NPD firms DisplaySearch and Solarbuzz have appointed ten new members to their global analyst and sales teams.

DisplaySearch specializes in the display supply chain, while its Solarbuzz affiliate supplies solar energy market research reports.
  • Shoko Oi joins DisplaySearch as Senior Analyst, Touch and Technology Analysis in Tokyo, focusing on touch screens. She previously worked as a market analyst for iSuppli and TSR.
  • Richard Shim takes up the post of Senior Analyst, Mobile PC in Santa Clara, US. Shim has studied consumer and commercial PC buying behavior and before joining, worked as an Analyst for IDC and a reporter for News.com.
  • Also in Santa Clara, Christopher Sunsong joins as Solarbuzz Analyst for Asia Solar Markets. In his new role, he maintains research on market size, growth and projections, federal and state PV policies, market pricing, current and future projects, as well as distribution channels.
  • In Seoul, Jae-Hak Choi becomes DisplaySearch Senior Manufacturing Analyst, with a specialism in flat panel display equipment and manufacturing technology. Before joining, he worked in applications engineering for Orbotch, ADP, and LG Displays.
  • Robin Wu becomes PC Market Analyst for DisplaySearch China, based in Shanghai. Wu, who specializes in China market research, previously worked for Lenovo and IBM.
  • Additionally, Ray Lian joins the Shanghai operation as Solarbuzz Analyst, Greater China Solar Markets and Manufacturing. Previously, he held sales and marketing positions at Pulsepower Technologies and Coherent.
  • In Taipei, Jeff Lin has been appointed DisplaySearch PC Value Chain Analyst, responsible for market research and analysis of the PC monitor value chain. Before joining, he worked at BenQ, Samsung Taiwan and Chunghwa Picture Tubes.
DisplaySearch and Solarbuzz have also added sales and client support strength with the following hires:
  • Kelly Chen, Taipei
  • Inga Owczors, London
  • Rita Li, Shanghai.
