July 22 2011

Cable broadcaster USA Network has announced the promotion of Ted Linhart to SVP of Research and has also elevated Stacey Marmor Balaban to VP of Digital and Sales Research.

USA Network and its sister channel Sleuth are both divisions of NBCUniversal, and are best known for first showing in the US the breakout hit shows Monk and Burn Notice.

Linhart will continue to manage ratings and multiplatform metrics and will now also have responsibility for sales and new media. He will report to USA Co-presidents Chris McCumber and Jeff Wachtel.

Balaban will be working exclusively on sales and digital research, where she will be involved in the strategic position of the USA and Sleuth brands. She will report to Linhart and both will be based in New York.

‘Ted is our secret weapon - we don’t make any decisions without him,’ said McCumber and Wachtel. ‘It’s rare that you find someone who has such a keen insight into all areas of what we do, and his opinions and feedback are invaluable.’

Linhart added of Balaban: ‘Stacey has played a vital role in USA research for many years and helped me tremendously in my first months on the job. Her passion for research in addition to her unrivaled analytical skills has earned high praise and respect from her colleagues.’

Linhart can be found discussing all things television on Twitter: @TedonTV.
