John DinsdaleUS telecoms intelligence provider Synergy Research Group has appointed John Dinsdale as Managing Director, responsible for its operations and sales and marketing, as well as for leading the firm’s research in the mobile and IPTV/video markets.

Last summer, Synergy Research formed a strategic alliance with telecoms market intelligence firm TeleGeography (a division of PriMetrica), to market and sell each other’s research services, while working together to jointly develop new research and data services.

Dinsdale works as an Executive Director of TeleGeography/Primetrica, and he will retain this role while taking on his new responsibilities at Synergy Research.

Prior to joining TeleGeography in 2009, he was VP & General Manager at In-Stat, with P&L responsibility for the whole company and direct responsibility for research, sales, consulting, marketing and operations. Earlier, he was SVP, Research at telecoms provider RHK; Group VP, Worldwide Director, Chief Analyst at Gartner; Product Manager at STC Telecommunications, and Market Information & Planning Manager at British Telecom. He began his career in market planning at Plessey.

Commenting on the appointment, Synergy Research founder and Chief Analyst Jeremy Duke said: ‘Both John and TeleGeography bring a wealth of experience that will allow us to better serve our customers.’

The firm has also hired Joseph Marayag as its first analyst to be based in the Asia-Pac region. He previously spent five years as a Research Analyst for ISS, and is now based in TeleGeography’s Singapore office.
