Nunwood Hires Shopper Insight Leader from Asda

UK-based consultancy Nunwood has hired former Asda consumer specialist Craig Ryder as Global Head of Shopper Insight, Analytics and Activation.

Craig RyderNunwood, which operates worldwide from offices in London, Leeds, New York, Amsterdam and Sydney, provides strategic planning and customer insights for global brands.

Ryder joins following a 15-year career with retail giant Asda. Most recently, as Customer Activity Planning Manger, Ryder analysed competitors, the trading environment, and category activity to drive the creation of the supermarket's customer activity plan. In this role, he was also responsible for activity associated with the 'Asda We Sell For Less' programme.

Previous roles have involved managing the firm's non-food promotions and events programme; driving basket spend for Asda.com; researching and reviewing retail innovation in Europe and the US; examining current and future customer trends; and sourcing commercially viable new categories.

In his new role, Ryder is tasked with bringing his approach to analytics and skills in customer insight to Nunwood's specialist shopper insight division. One of his focuses will be to further develop the firm's shopper insight tools, which combine bio-metrics with a qualitative approach, and commercial analytics with modelling.

'We will continue to hire global thought leaders for each of our areas of expertise,' states Chief Strategy Officer James Walker, who joined from Accenture last November. 'Craig will make a great addition to the team, ensuring our clients benefit from the best strategic direction and expertise.'
