Former MP David Miliband Named Kantar Public NED

Kantar Public, the division recently sold to investor Trilantic Europe, has added two Non-Executive Directors (NEDs) to its Global Management Board, including former British Labour Party politician David Miliband.

David Miliband and Matthew PostgatePrevious parent Kantar completed the sale of Kantar Public to pan-European private equity firm Trilantic Europe last September. Miliband has served during his career as UK Foreign Secretary; MP for South Shields; Head of the Downing Street Policy Unit, under former Prime Minister Tony Blair; Minister for Schools; and Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. He also serves as President and CEO of humanitarian non-governmental organisation the International Rescue Committee, a role he has worked in for nearly a decade.

In addition, the BBC's former Chief Technology and Product Officer Matthew Postgate joins Kantar Public as an NED, after nearly eighteen years at the broadcaster. Here he was latterly responsible for building the corporation's mobile services, and was part of the leadership team that conceived and launched BBC iPlayer. He currently works in climate technology and is an NED at UK Strategic Command within the Ministry of Defence; as well as at Arqiva and M2A Media.

The pair join the Board alongside Trilantic Europe's founder Joe Cohen; MD Anthony Bellau; and Principal Lorenzo Cirio; as well as Kantar Public's Global CEO Michelle Harrison; Chief People Officer Zarina Ward; and Global Chief Financial Officer Mark Hinton-Jones. Commenting on the news, Global Chair Eric Salama said: 'Given our evidence and advisory work across the public policy spectrum, and the growing role that technology plays in collecting and making sense of multiple data streams, I am thrilled that David and Matthew are joining our Global Board. Both bring a diversity of thought, experience, expertise and deep understanding of the evolving issues affecting societies and citizens around the world, along with an ability to help us and our clients create even greater impact'.
