Database provider Infogroup/UK (formerly InfoUK) has appointed former Experian data specialist Tom Cooke as Business Development Manager, to cover London and the surrounding areas.

The Manchester-headquartered firm, which was launched in 2008, is part of Infogroup, which also owns Opinion Research Corporation (ORC) and ORC International.

Its aim is to compile a database of addresses for every business in the UK, updated by means of 2-3 million telephone calls per annum.

Cooke joins with 10 years’ data and telecoms experience. In his previous role as Senior Account Manager at Experian QAS, he developed relationships with utilities clients. Prior to this, he worked on behalf of communications firm Sircom, and after the firm was acquired by Azzurre Communications, he was promoted from Account Manager to Manager, working with a variety of SMEs.

In his new role, Cooke joins former Experian colleagues Richard Lloyd and Andy Taylor, who work as General Manager and Head of Sales & Marketing respectively.
