New-York based ABI Research has appointed Sam Rosen as Senior Analyst, Digital Home, focusing on areas including cable, satellite, IPTV, and terrestrial pay TV set-top boxes. Established in 1990 ABI Research provides in-depth analysis and quantitative forecasting of trends in global connectivity and other emerging technologies from its offices in North America, Europe and Asia. For the last few years Rosen has headed his own company, Blue House Tech, carrying out contract research and analysis projects for ABI and others. He began his career in the design and architecture of microprocessors and then moved into customer-facing field applications and marketing roles. Rosen has also worked as Design Engineer at Intel, Principal Architect at semiconductor IP start-up Lexra, and as a Principal Engineer at several wireless semiconductor start-ups. More recent positions have included those of Manager, Sales Engineering/Marketing at Faraday, and Field Application Engineer at Ambric. In his new role, Rosen will also contribute to the growth and development of the company’s Digital Media Research Service. ‘Sam is extremely experienced in the set-top box domain; his considerable skill set will allow us to push deeper into the fast-evolving TV and video markets,’ says VP and CRO Stuart Carlaw.
