John OurenIn the US, MarketTools has added five new members to its TrueSample Quality Council, which meets twice a year to discuss ways of promoting transparency and consistency in the research supply chain.

MarketTools launched its TrueSample process in 2008, to identify and remove fake, duplicate and unengaged respondents from research samples.

The TrueSample Quality Council, which was launched the same year, now counts 14 companies amongst its members - from both the research vendor and client side. New members include Energizer, E. & J. Gallo Winery, Nestlé and Southwest Airlines.

In October, the council developed a set of online research guidelines, which aim to improve research quality across the industry.

During the most recent council meeting, held in November, council members developed action plans for a number of areas including the evolution of data quality solutions which address non-traditional online sampling methods, such as real-time and social media sampling. Members also discussed what other research quality organizations, such as the ARF Online Research Quality Council, are doing to improve research quality, and how the councils can work together.

‘The addition of five industry-leading member companies to the TrueSample Quality Council is a clear indication that leading organizations are invested in guiding the development of a quality solution for the entire industry,’ stated John Ouren, General Manager and EVP of Panels and Communities at MarketTools.
