Blueocean Buys Data Integration Firm Cognicient
In the US, Phoenix-based consumer research and analytics firm Blueocean Market Intelligence has acquired data integration specialist Cognicient. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Cognicient, which was set up by former Synovate Ops Director Mike Page (pictured), offers proprietary LINK software to help clients integrate existing market research information and business data, and provide a 'holistic view' of their customers.
The acquisition includes the LINK solution and key staff; with Page becoming Vice President - Client Services and Technology at Blueocean's new office in London, where he will oversee the firm's European business and its technology solutions worldwide.
Kumar Mehta, CEO of Blueocean, comments: 'Our analytics expertise combined with Cognicient's data management and reporting system will enable marketing managers worldwide to integrate and leverage all of their data assets to generate a true 360 view of their customers. Until now, no other research and analytics firm has had the in-house abilities to effectively house and manage all types of data, and also provide the necessary insights services to support a data-oriented marketing strategy.'
