In the US, Phoenix-based consumer research and analytics firm Blueocean Market Intelligence has acquired data integration specialist Cognicient. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
<! pod><! pod>Cognicient, which was set up by former Synovate Ops Director Mike Page (pictured), offers proprietary LINK software to help clients integrate existing market research information and business data, and provide a 'holistic view' of their customers.
The acquisition includes the LINK solution and key staff; with Page becoming Vice President - Client Services and Technology at Blueocean's new office in London, where he will oversee the firm's European business and its technology solutions worldwide.
Kumar Mehta, CEO of Blueocean, comments: 'Our analytics expertise combined with Cognicient's data management and reporting system will enable marketing managers worldwide to integrate and leverage all of their data assets to generate a true 360 view of their customers. Until now, no other research and analytics firm has had the in-house abilities to effectively house and manage all types of data, and also provide the necessary insights services to support a data-oriented marketing strategy.'
