BritainThinks Hires Five for New Research Roles

International insight and strategy consultancy BritainThinks has hired five researchers, including Populus' former Head of Qualitative Andy Barker as Senior Research Director.

Launched in 2010 by Opinion Leader co-founders Deborah Mattinson and Viki Cooke, together with Ben Shimshon, employee-owned BritainThinks offers strategic advice for political, corporate and not-for-profit clients. In addition, the company's WorldThinks international division has a specific focus on reputation research.

Barker joins after more than seven years at Populus (now Yonder), before which, he was Qualitative Director at Engage Research, Head of Qualitative at YouGov, and he held senior roles at Spinach, Research International, and BJM, having begun his career at Millward Brown. He is joined by Helena Page, who takes on the role of Research Lead after serving as a Senior Consultant at ComRes, where she conducted comms, reputation, and policy research.

In addition, Megan Powell has been named Senior Research Executive, after working at brand and innovation company Butterfly, where she led insight and brand strategy projects, using qual consumer research to inform recommendations for clients. Rory Jackson also joins as an SRE, following more than a year working in the Health team at Savanta ComRes, before which, he worked in quant research roles in Washington DC with the American Political Science Association and Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research. Finally, Emma Morrison has been named Research Executive after working at research organisation The Campaign Company.
