New UK Executive MD for Kantar
Kantar has appointed former Valtech leader David Gompel as Executive Managing Director in the UK.
The global company is now focused on its Insights / Profiles business, having shed a number of major units in the last few years: Reputation Intelligence is now Onclusive; Kantar Public was sold in 2022 to pan-European private equity firm Trilantic Europe and is now known as Verian; Kantar Media went to investment firm H.I.G. Capital a year ago and is now Fifty5Blue; and Numerator and Worldpanel have decoupled and are now running independently under a separate Board and governance structure.
Gompel (pictured) brings more than a quarter century of experience in digital transformation, data and marketing, helping global consumer businesses across automotive, technology, CPG & retail, luxury, travel and hospitality. He joins from digital consultancy Valtech where he was CEO Europe, and earlier worked in senior roles for marcoms holding company Publicis Groupe across Europe and Asia. His new role is focused on driving client centricity in what Kantar says is a changing consumer and market environment.
'We're investing in our people, our platforms and our data to help brands build effective growth strategies,' says Gonzalo Fuentes, the group's CEO for EMEA, 'and I'm confident David will bring great energy, leadership and growth momentum to our team. His passion and experience in transforming businesses through better use of digital systems and AI will be invaluable in complementing and accelerating our work to help clients make better marketing decisions.'
