James Bland and Philip CoulterIn the UK, market research agency BDRC Continental has appointed James Bland as Senior Client Services Manager, and Philip Coulter as Client Services Executive in its Hotels and Hospitality division.

Recently formed from a merger of companies formed in the early 1990s, the firm offers full service consultancy across a wide range of sectors including hospitality, transport, media, financial and government.

Bland joins the Hotels and Hospitality division from family-owned conference venue group Sundial, where as Group Marketing Manager he worked with all three of BDRC Continental’s proprietary customer experience tracking tools - VenueVerdict, GuestRate and Meetings Benchmark Tracker.

In his new role, he will be responsible for the growth of these tools, overseeing product refinement, marketing, sales and account management.

Coulter joins from hospitality giant Marriott, where he held both sales and operational roles in the UK and US. At BDRC Continental, he will assume responsibility for the 20+ client hotel groups that participate in the firm’s studies.

Matt Costin, Director of the Hotels and Hospitality practice, welcome the new recruits’ ‘combination of direct experience at the sharp end of sales, marketing and hotel operations’.
