Educational Researchers Join Forces

June 15 2009

In the US, education research specialists MarketingWorks and SEG Research have announced a partnership aimed at enhancing their services for educational publishers and educational technology providers.

Making the announced at the American Educational Publishers annual summit, the partners said the recession had hit the educational publishing and educational technology industry hard, but that some publishers were prospering.

Marketing Works provides research for the PreK-12, higher education, adult learning, and library, markets, while SEG provides research, evaluation, and assessment services to educational publishers, educational technology providers, assessment service providers and government agencies.

Gerry Bogatz, President of MarketingWorks, says that by joining forces, the two can offer 'one stop shopping' for their research clients, adding that in tough times 'Educational publishers... need to do their homework.'

'School and district buyers are more demanding and more savvy that ever before' according to SEG President Scott Elliot. 'They are looking for hard evidence that the products and services they are buying are effective.'
