In the US, media researcher Jay Guyther - a long-time executive at Arbitron - is joining broadcast consulting firm ROI Media Solutions (ROIMS) to expand its reach in new people meter markets.
Guyther, who has more than 30 years' experience in media research, marketing and product management, joined Arbitron in 1984. During his time with the firm, he co-wrote the business plan to introduce electronic audience measurement in the 50 largest radio markets and was the senior executive responsible for its implementation. Most recently, Guyther served as SVP, Ratings Services and SVP, Global PPM Marketing and Business Development.
Prior to this, he was an Account Executive with radio broadcasters WPOC-FM and WITH-AM/FM. Guyther has an MBA in Marketing and Marketing Research and a BSc in Business Administration from Loyola College, Baltimore, MD.
'Few in this industry understand ratings and research methodologies as well as Jay,' said Doyle Rose, co-founder of ROIMS. 'He brings to ROIMS 25 years of direct, hands-on experience with both electronic and diary-based audience measurement.'
ROI is based in Los Angeles, and in his new role, Guyther will open the firm's East Coast office in Baltimore.
