Solar Roll-Out for DisplaySearch

August 10 2009

Flat panel research specialist DisplaySearch is to roll out a new suite of reports to cover the rapidly growing solar and photovoltaics markets.

DisplaySearch says the reports will be 'uniquely global' in data coverage, and give a breadth of data including market share and market forecasts, based on technology, equipment and capacity.

SVP Paul Semenza comments: 'The photovoltaics market is poised for significant growth, with capacity forecast to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 49% from 2009 to 2013. We have covered solar as part of our display-related research for more than three years, and now that our FPD clients are expanding their business operations into solar, they're demanding greater coverage in this market segment.'

The first publication, the Quarterly PV Cell Capacity Database & Trends Report, will make DisplaySearch's proprietary solar cell capacity database and analysis available to clients around the world, and will use the firm's tried and tested holistic supply chain approach. It will track solar cell production capacity by region, manufacturer, factory, phase, technology, probability, thin film glass size, thin film equipment, equipment purchase order, install and ramp dates on a quarterly basis from 2000 to 2013, with annual sums and nameplate totals.

In addition, the company plans to release several reports on end-market and policy trends.

Part of the NPD Group, DisplaySearch is headquartered in Austin, Texas and has a core team of 50 employees, located in Europe, North America and Asia. Web sites: www.displaysearch.com and www.npd.com .
