Green Building Tech Tracker Rolls Out

August 27 2009

In the US, analyst and consultant Frost & Sullivan has introduced a subscription-based market tracking program to assess awareness, adoption, plans and spending in the commercial green building sector.

All respondents will be decision makers and influencers for commercial buildings in the US including 'specifiers' - architects, engineering consultants and mechanical or electrical - and 'end users' -facility managers who operate commercial buildings.

A total of 150 respondents, split equally between specifiers and end users will be interviewed on a monthly basis, resulting in 1,800 completed surveys annually. The survey will sample executives from the commercial real estate, healthcare, and education facilities sectors.

The study will measure familiarity, attitudes and perceived advantages of green building technologies, while identifying the key drivers and restraints for their installation.

It will also measure current and anticipated investments in green building technologies and provide coverage of a wide range of equipment that impacts a building's efficiency.

'Because the commercial building market is competitive, suppliers need a tracking mechanism that provides reliable trending of market performance indicators,' explained VP Customer Research, Dan Colquhoun. 'The continuous coverage allows for the monitoring of all significant market activity and our data collection methodology provides the basis for unambiguous interpretation.'

Frost & Sullivan's Customer Research team conducts independent, non-sponsored research among end-users to evaluate and measure companies and trends in the market.

The firm, which was founded in 1961, has more than 35 global offices and employs more than 1800 industry consultants, market research analysts, technology analysts and economists.
